Terms of service

Early alpha. Mippi is in early alpha. The service will change, things will break, and there are no guarantees about uptime, stability, or data persistence. Your data may be wiped or reset at any time during this period. We will make reasonable efforts to give advance notice before planned resets, but cannot guarantee notice for unplanned events.

What mippi is

Mippi is portable AI memory infrastructure, based in the Netherlands. It stores, organizes, and delivers your knowledge across any AI client that supports the MCP protocol. mippi does not include an LLM — you bring your own AI subscription. mippi is the memory layer between you and whatever AI you use.

Your account

You need an account to use mippi. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure. One person, one account — do not share accounts or create multiple accounts to circumvent limits.

You must be at least 16 years old to use mippi.

Your data

You own your data. Everything you store in mippi — records, collections, tags, files — belongs to you. Mippi does not claim any intellectual property rights over your content.

You grant mippi a limited license to store, process, back up, and deliver your content as needed to operate the service. That means: we store it because you asked us to, we back it up so it does not disappear, and we send it where you tell us to send it. Nothing more.

You can export or delete your data at any time. See the privacy statement for details on how data is stored and removed.

Our stuff

Mippi's service, software, documentation, and brand remain our property. Nothing in these terms grants you rights to use mippi's trademarks, logos, or brand elements beyond normal use of the service.

Using mippi through AI clients

Mippi is designed to be used through AI clients like Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and others. You are responsible for the AI client you connect, the prompts you give it, and the actions it takes through mippi on your behalf. Actions triggered through your connected client are treated as actions you authorized.

Third-party AI clients and providers have their own terms and privacy practices. Mippi is not responsible for those systems or for content transformations they perform outside mippi.

Acceptable use

Use mippi for its intended purpose: storing, organizing, and delivering your knowledge and documents. Do not use it to:

  • Store or distribute illegal content
  • Send spam or unsolicited bulk messages through delivery channels
  • Attempt to access other users' data or exploit the service infrastructure
  • Use automated systems to abuse rate limits or storage quotas
  • Resell mippi access without permission

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. We will tell you why unless legally prevented from doing so.

The service

Availability. Mippi is provided as-is. During alpha, there is no uptime guarantee, no SLA, and no commitment to feature stability. Things will break. We will fix them, but we cannot promise when.

Changes. We may change, limit, or discontinue features at any time during alpha. We will try to give notice for significant changes, but alpha means alpha.

Paid plans. Paid subscriptions are billed through Creem. Prices are shown before you subscribe. You can cancel at any time — cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not offer partial-month refunds for voluntary cancellations. By subscribing to a paid plan and accessing the service immediately, you acknowledge that you waive the 14-day right of withdrawal under EU consumer law. Free tier users can be moved to updated free tier terms at any time.

Liability

Mippi is provided without warranty of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • We are not liable for data loss, service interruptions, or delivery failures
  • We are not liable for actions taken by your AI client based on data stored in mippi
  • We are not liable for indirect, consequential, incidental, or punitive damages, including lost profits or business interruption
  • Our total liability for direct damages is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or €50, whichever is greater

This does not affect rights that cannot be waived under applicable law, including Dutch and EU consumer protection rules.

Termination

You can close your account at any time. Export your data first — once deleted, it is gone.

We can suspend or close your account if you violate these terms, if required by law, or if continuing service would be unreasonable. If we close your account without cause, we will give you a reasonable window to export your data.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as mippi evolves. We will give at least 14 days' notice before significant changes take effect. During alpha, minor changes may happen more frequently. We will note changes in the product changelog. Your continued use after the notice period means you accept the updated terms. If you disagree, you may close your account and export your data before the changes take effect.

Governing law

These terms are governed by Dutch law. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. If you are an EU consumer, you retain the protections of your home country's mandatory consumer laws.
